For me, the year 2020 was a year of lessons. Both in music and in life. On this album I attempt to interpret those lessons in the form of music. Most of the pieces were indeed written in 2020. Some of them are thoroughly composed and written for both hands, while others are more open to improvisation. I don’t want to describe this music in terms of style; it is just music for piano! By the way, sheet music for all ten pieces is available for purchase.

This is my first solo piano album, and I found it more difficult to record and produce than my trio and quintet albums. To be completely alone in the process was a challenge. And in general, to release a solo piano album of original music is exposing. But I believe there is never a “right time” to do anything. So why not do it now?
